Glenn Carter serves as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Finance at Motiva, where he leads all financial operations, including accounting, audit, treasury, trading risk, and compliance. He also oversees the company’s Information Technology function, encompassing cybersecurity, IT trading and risk, and enterprise-wide systems.

With nearly 30 years of hands-on experience in corporate finance and accounting across the energy industry, Glenn is widely recognized for his strong leadership, strategic insight, and unwavering commitment to financial discipline. Throughout his distinguished career, he has consistently built high-performing, collaborative teams that drive measurable business success.

Prior to his current role, Glenn was Motiva’s Controller and Vice President of Enterprise Risk. In that capacity, he directed financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance with accounting standards, while spearheading the company’s enterprise risk management strategy.

Glenn joined Motiva in 2011 as a Business Analyst Team Lead and has held several leadership roles since, including Finance Director and member of the Leadership Team at the Port Arthur refinery. Earlier in his career, he held financial planning and accounting positions at Shell Global Lubricants and Pennzoil-Quaker State Company.

Glenn holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University. He serves on the board of directors for Juniper Ventures of Texas and is a member of the Motiva Investment Committee.

Glenn lives in Spring, Texas, and enjoys traveling, spending time with his wife and four children, and volunteering in his community.
